Mitt Romney, his faith.

Now as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, we are asked to not get involved in politics. So my intentions of writing this blog aren't to be involved in politics but clearing up false comments, false belief's, and false accusations about our religion. I belong to the same church as Mitt Romney and I don't know much about the current election. But I do know that there are people in the wrong that profess what they believe Mitt Romney believes.
The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints, is in fact, a Christian religion. I know that Jesus Christ is my savior and redeemer. An apostle in the church that represents Jesus Christ bore his testimony of the savior. Elder Dallin H Oaks said, "So what does our testimony of Jesus Christ cause us to affirm? Jesus Christ is the Only Begotten Son of God, the Eternal Father. Through His incomparable mortal ministry, He is our teacher. Because of His Resurrection, all who have ever lived will be raised from the dead. He is the Savior, whose atoning sacrifice paid for the sin of Adam and opened the door for us to be forgiven of our personal sins so that we can be cleansed to return to the presence of God, our Eternal Father. This is the central message of the prophets of all ages.
I solemnly affirm my testimony of Jesus Christ and the truth of His gospel. He lives, and His gospel is true. He is the Light and Life of the World (see D&C 34:2). He is the Way to immortality and eternal life (see John 14:6). To me, the miracle of the Atonement of Jesus Christ is incomprehensible. But the Holy Ghost has given me a witness of its truthfulness, and I can rejoice that I can spend my life in proclaiming it."
Once again I do not want to be involved in politics at this time. I just want to clear up any falsehood's of our religion that I can. Because of how much it has blessed my life. I know that anyone who applies it in their life can be blessed beyond their comprehension. Please don't take any one's word for it, not even mine. Find out for yourself the truth of the everlasting gospel. I KNOW THAT MY REDEEMER LIVES!!!!!!!!!!

Ohana means family, family means no one is left behind.

"Ohana means family, family means no one is left behind." This is probably the truest principle ever said in a Disney movie. Family meaning no one is left behind is both an temporal principle and an eternal principle. Here on earth we should cherish our families. No one should be left behind. Families are ordained of God and should be treated that way. They are the most important social unit we have here on the earth. But most imortantly families are eternal. God didn't just intend for us to be with our families here on earth. We can be with them for eternity but here is only one way, being sealed in the temple of God. When the priesthood way restored through the prophet Joseph Smith that also restored the ability to seal families for time and eternity. Marriages were not meant to be until death do us part. That is a planned divorce. God wants us to be with our husband or wife forever and so should we.

This link is The Family:A Proclamation to the world  . It is the testimonies of Apostles and Prophets in the latter-days. Explaning why and how we can become eternal families. After you read this take a look at your family and think about how badly you want to be with them forever. If you want it badly enough, you can have it.

A work in progress

A fantastic video on a talented young athlete. Being from Orem, UT and playing basketball, I had the opportunity to play against Tyler Haws. He is a tremendous athlete. Having to guard him was quite the challenge. But here is a perfect example of someone who had some really good things going for him at BYU playing basketball. Choosing to not serve a mission, probably would have been great for his basketball career. He wouldn't have had to put off basketball for two full years. He could've continued to dominate at BYU without a long break. But Tyler Haws chose to serve the Lord before anything. How easy it would have been for him to not go and continue to play basketball. But he knew what was most important. Do we all know what is most important? Is putting the Lord first a priority in our lives? It is my hope and prayer that we all choose to serve the Lord first. President Henry B Eyring said, "Hardest thing today, they will be better in the next day, if you choose to serve the Lord this day." I bear testimony to that truth. Tyler Haws will be able to come back and play basketball for BYU. But his eternal perspective of life increases. I know that because of what I've learned on a mission. It puts so much more importance into living gospel standards and living a Christ-like life. The gospel is true, Jesus is the Christ the son of the living God. I bear this testimony in his name, even Jesus Christ, Amen.

The Witnesses of The Book of Mormon

The Witnesses of The Book of Mormon. They may have all left the church at one point but at no point in their lives did they ever deny what they had seen. For Zone Conference this last week, Elder Houston, Elder Hunsaker and I had the privilege of singing this song. It is such a powerful song of the divine witness of the Book of Mormon. Listen to it and think about your own testimony of the Book. Mine was strengthened by listening to, and singing this song. "I bear record its true, I know what I have felt." I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God chosen to restore the Church of Jesus Christ. He translated this book by the power of our Heavenly Father. By reading the Book of Mormon it can make bad men good, and good men better. The is my testimony of this gospel and I do so in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

I love baseball, it is one my favorite things in this world. As I was contemplating, how does baseball relate to the gospel, I had a perfect idea. For those of you who know baseball, the third base coach gives signs to his hitters and base runners. These signs consist of many different patterns. They all mean something different. The coach is telling his players what they need to do to execute a certain play. If executed correctly it can often lead to winning a game. The coach doesn't do anything for them, he tells them what to do and they are the one's to take care of the rest. How often does our Heavenly Father tell us what we can do to return to him and has us execute the plan ourselves. How often in baseball does a coach give a sign and the players don't execute it? It happens quite often. How often does our Heavenly Father give us a perfect sing or plan and we don't execute it? It happens even more often. That is why we practice and practice and practice. None of us will ever execute our Fathers plan perfectly but we try, and try, and try again. Our Father in Heaven wants us to return to him and love him more than anything else, because of the love he has for us. It is our job, to do our best, to understand what that plan or sign is from our Heavenly Father and execute it the way he would have us execute it. I know God lives and answers our prayers. Focus on what he is trying to say to you and don't question it, just do it.
